Boyken Featured in "Rising Stars"

Aaron T. Boyken of Titonka Savings Bank has been selected as a "rising star" by Independent Banker, Independent Community Bankers of America's national trade magazine. Boyken's selection in the category of Chief Technology Officer is in recognition of his efforts at the bank and in the community.

"ICBA wanted to recognize community bankers who are exceptionally good at what they do," says ICBA's Director of Communications Tim Cook. "These individuals not only excel in their jobs, but represent our industry's best virtues, a commitment to customer service and participation in civic events."

"We feel that Aaron is very deserving of this recognition as a 'Rising Star' under 40 years of age, and that is why I submitted his name for consideration" said Janice Folkerts, TSB Cashier and Operations Officer.

Aaron Boyken set up the networking between the three offices of the Titonka Savings Bank and implemented the imaging system. He created the Bank's website and implemented the Dial-A-Bank service of the Bank. Besides keeping the computer systems in top working condition, Aaron created a back-up system from the mainframe in Titonka to a server in Forest City and wrote the software for a TSB webOPM, which allows bank employees to request computer maintenance and tracks the job until completed, such as for adding customers to the sign-up for the "Fun With Friends" Travel Club.

Aaron is a Titonka Savings Bank Director, Titonka City Councilman, a Titonka ambulance crewmember, a Titonka Fire Department member, and serves on the board of Good Hope Lutheran Church. He also maintains computers for the Titonka and Burt Public Libraries and for many individuals in the area. Aaron and his wife, Jennifer, are the parents of three children; Rebecca, Billy, and Bobby. He is a graduate of Iowa State University and a Cyclone fan, through and through.

ICBA is the nation's largest community bank trade association, which exclusively represents the interests of community banks.

Recognized bankers appear in the February 2003 issue of the magazine and represent a diverse range of positions, including: director, marketing officer, branch manager, and chief lending officer.
